Car Sandwiched Between Dump Truck, Calgary (Canada) Fire Apparatus

Two people had to be extricated by rescue crews after their car ended up crushed between a dump truck and a Calgary fire engine Wednesday morning. Emergency crews were called just after 10:15 a.m. when the fire engine, waiting at a red light on 112th Avenue at Country Hills Boulevard.
The car ended up pinned between the two larger vehicles, requiring fire crews to free the two occupants from the wreck.

Calgary EMS spokesman Adam Loria told Postmedia that nobody was seriously injured in the collision.

Calgary fire spokeswoman Carol Henke said while the car sustained extensive damage in the crash, the dump truck and fire engine received only minor damage.

Pink Fire Apparatus Rolling into Vinton (IA)

Mark your Calendars, On Oct. 21, from 11 a.m., to 2 p.m. Pink Heals Sauk Valley from Rock Falls, Ill., is coming to Vinton and they are bringing their pink fire truck. Pink Heals mission is to bring a community together on behalf of people, not for a specific cause, not a specific disease.
If you are a survivor or a loved one of someone who lost their battle, stop by the Vinton Fire Station from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and sign the truck, take pictures and support others in our community who have/are fighting cancer or other illnesses. Bring your supporters. It is open to the public.

L&I Premium Calculator

In an ongoing effort to assist fire agencies, Labor & Industries is continuing to support fire agencies through the premium calculator. This tool will assist Fire Agencies to better refine their budget estimates as it pertains to costs associated to Industrial Insurance. 

This tool also includes the projected experience rating for each of the Fire Agencies to reflect a more refined estimate based on each agency's relative performance.

Bothell firefighters lend a hand across the state and across state lines

While local first responders’ jobs focus on their local communities, there are times when they reach out beyond their city limits to help those in other parts of the state or country. At the Bothell Fire Department, a number of firefighters have spent this last summer deployed to different parts of Oregon to help with the wildfires in that state.
