PHOTOS: The Kennewick Fire Department released more information on a house fire that destroyed a home Monday afternoon.
It happened on the 5600 block of West Metaline Avenue. A call for help came in just after 1:30 p.m. and it was reported a home was on fire with flames and smoke showing. Witnesses reported hearing small explosions and people who lived there were attempting to get back inside the home to rescue their pets.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: The Lake City Community Center was damaged in a fire early Tuesday morning.
According to the Seattle Fire Department (SFD), 911 callers reported just before 2:50 a.m. what appeared to be a tree on fire that extended to the community center.
Crews arrived on the 12500 block of 28th Avenue Northeast less than three minutes after receiving the call and discovered the entrance of the building facing 27th Avenue Northeast was on fire.

Seattle Fire Department crews responded after a car crashed into the Seattle Public Library Ballard branch on Monday afternoon.
No injuries were reported, and all occupants were able to get out of the car on their own, the fire department said.

In 2006, the Tripod Complex fire tore through the Okanogan National Forest. The fire was bad, but its effect on the wildlife habitat was worse.
Canada lynx, an elusive medium-sized wildcat, have struggled to keep numbers up in the North Cascades while wildfire have eaten up their historic range. Lynx love dense forests, so do wildfires.

A roof collapsed at a church after a three-alarm fire sparked Monday morning in southwest Oklahoma City. Shortly before 5:15 a.m., a passerby called authorities to report a fire at a church near Southwest 74th Street and Walker Avenue, just off Interstate 240. Fire department officials said crews arrived and found heavy flames on the front side of the God of No Limits Family Ministries.
