JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Three firefighters have been released from the hospital, after their fire truck crashed into a light pole in Arlington Friday morning. The engine was heading east on the service road along Arlington Expressway near University Boulevard. No other vehicles were involved.
"JFRD said the firefighters aboard the engine had to be extracted from inside by crews from a fire engine that was also heading to the scene."
Do you prepare for extricating your own firefighters after a fire truck accident? There aren't many opportunities for training on a fire truck and its unique cab construction. Do you have the right equipment to stabilize a pumper on its side? Just things to think about.
