Shooter opens fire on paramedics in East Dallas; at least 1 firefighter shot

At least one firefighter was shot when a gunman opened fire on paramedics in East Dallas late Monday morning. Dallas Police are currently searching for an active shooter in the neighborhood east of the Dallas Fire Rescue Training Academy. The shooting happened at about 11:30 a.m. at the facility which is near Dolphin Road near Interstate 30.

West Pierce Fire & Rescue firefighter saves lives, even on his way to the movies

Jonathan Tinsley once rescued a woman being stabbed in the middle of a Lakewood street. Another time, he dove into a frigid Lake Steilacoom to try to save a man whose canoe had overturned. And last month, he tackled a man who attacked several people at a Tumwater gas station. The 35-year-old West Pierce Fire & Rescue firefighter can’t explain how he finds himself involved in others’ life-or-death situations, both in uniform and out.

Update: Massive Lynnwood fire - No cause but foul play not suspected

Fire investigators have not been able to determine what cause a massive fire that destroyed an apartment complex under construction in the Seattle suburb of Lynnwood in January. Lynnwood Police Detective Brian Jorgensen says there was too much damage. Investigators, however, have found no reason to suspect foul play.

Oak Harbor considers second fire station to shorten response times

Oak Harbor firefighters pulled a 79-year-old woman from a house fire last week, just in time to save her life. After getting the 911 call, it took firefighters less than three minutes to get to the Southeast Sixth Avenue residence, where they found the woman and her 92-year-old husband inside. They were too late to save the man.
