St. Augustine Fire Department Rolls Brush 48 Into Station

New Fire Station in Corwith

Published: CORWITH, Iowa- A new fire station has recently opened in one local town. The Corwith Fire Department's new location has four bays that hold fire department trucks, as well as a separate bay for the EMT unit. Corwith Mayor Dave Wagner said the new station became possible because of the community's help.

Colorado Springs Fire Gets 3 New Rigs

It's been more than 17 years since some of Colorado Spring's fire trucks have been replaced and the department says it's needed. "We have fire mechanics that keep them up and maintain them but over time there's things that just wear out and there's a need for replacement," said Steve Wilch with the Colorado Springs Fire Department.

2 Mississippi firefighters killed on scene by hit-and-run driver

Two Sumrall volunteer firefighters working a wreck scene in Lamar County are dead after allegedly being struck by a hit-and-run driver. Sheriff Danny Rigel said that the firefighters were directing traffic at a dump truck accident on Mississippi 589 at Oloh Road when they were hit by a driver who fled the scene.

Pennsylvania firefighter killed in crash while headed to blaze saves 5 lives after death

When the Squad 8 rescue engine started having compartment frame issues, Harrisburg Fire Lt. Dennis DeVoe did what he always did: He went the extra mile. He researched the issues in detail and drove to Lancaster last month on his time off to talk directly with repair workers. When the department considered buying new vehicle rescue tools, sometimes known as the Jaws of Life, DeVoe researched the tools and crafted an intricate report weighing pluses and minuses for each one under consideration.
