The Lynnwood Police Dept. is now investigating the massive 3-alarm fire which destroyed a senior living community which was under construction along Scriber Lake Rd. Police have requested help from federal authorities, including an Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms National Response Team, which assists during major fire and explosion incidents.

A man was seriously injured in a mobile home fire Friday morning in Kent, officials said. Firefighters responded to the 15400 block of Southeast 272nd Street in Kent after 7:30 a.m. after receiving reports of smoke spewing from a home there, said Capt. Kyle Ohashi of Puget Sound Fire & Rescue. Firefighters were told someone might be inside.

Officials from the City of Lynnwood, Lynnwood Fire and Fire District 1 gathered twice over the past two weeks to hold informational open houses about the progress of a Regional Fire Authority (RFA) proposal. The proposal is still in its early stages of being formed. The RFA Planning Committee began holding meetings in October 2016.
