Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue: Person falls 40 feet into blackberry bushes in Silverdale

A person was taken to the hospital after falling 40 feet into blackberry bushes in Silverdale. On Wednesday, crews from Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue answered a call from a person who fell into blackberry bushes in the 9000 block of Northwest Anderson Hill Road. When crews arrived, they located the person down the hill but were unable to reach the person without using a rig to lift the person.

Fire at the Yakima Training Center

PHOTOS: Another fire has broken out at the Yakima Training Center. As of 4:00PM, June 26, around 30 acres were reported to be burning in an area known as Badger Pocket. The nearest accessible road is Exit 11 on Highway I-82, but that is closed to all traffic. Helicopters and bulldozers have been mobilized to help create a fire line, with Kittitas Fire and Rescue assisting the Training Center Fire Department.

Two dogs die in a complicated structure fire in Soap Lake

A fire burned down a structure on Tuesday, killing two dogs and posing a threat to a nearby community. The Grant County Fire District responded to the structure fully engulfed in flames near Main Avenue and Elder Street around 6 p.m. Firefighters observed downed and active powerlines near the fire that complicated the response and made it difficult to attack.
