'How did they all survive?': Investigators search for cause of Seattle bus crash

VIDEO/PHOTOS: An investigation is underway to determine what caused a Sound Transit bus to lose control and crash into the side of a building in downtown Seattle over the weekend. 11 people were taken to the hospital with injuries from the crash. One person had critical injuries and remains at Harborview Medical Center in satisfactory condition, according to hospital staff.

Everett: Dozens of women gained hands-on training at Future Women in EMS & Fire workshop

PHOTOS: More than 30 Snohomish County women spent the weekend climbing ladders, handling hoses, forcing doors and learning the basics of emergency medical care during the Future Women in EMS and Fire workshop that was held at the South County Fire Training Center in Everett on June 22 and 23. More than 70 women applied for the workshop, which was being offered for the first time in Snohomish County.

Wind-driven fire burns down 3 homes in Douglas County

PHOTOS: Three homes burned down after a wind-driven fire tore through an Eastern Washington neighborhood on Sunday. According to the Orondo Fire Department (OFD), a fire was reported at 5 p.m. in the Sun Cove community in Orondo. Orondo is an unincorporated Douglas County community that sits along the Columbia River about 17 miles north of Wenatchee.

VIDEOS: 2 critically injured in central Texas tanker fire

Two people were critically injured after their SUV collided with a trailer carrying barrels of oil near Giddings, authorities say. According to Texas DPS, at around 10:49 a.m. on June 23, troopers responded to a crash that happened near the intersection of US 290 and FM 180 in Lee County. DPS says a truck tractor towing a trailer carrying barrels of crude oil was attempting to enter the eastbound lane of US 290.

'Last Station' miniature fire museum dedicated in New York

VIDEO: The Dexter Fire Department celebrated its ‘Last Station’ project with a ribbon cutting Sunday. The ‘Last Station’ is a miniature museum next to the Dexter Historical Society, dedicated to the history of the fire department. It’s the final home for the department’s historic 1929 Brockway fire engine, the turnout gear work by Dexter’s first female firefighter and a plaque dedicated to the men and women who gave their lives for the Dexter Fire Department.
