Personnel records missing following break-in at fire district in Rhode Island

The Central Coventry Fire District has asked the Rhode Island State Police to criminally investigate an apparent break-in to a file cabinet and theft of confidential personnel records. The district also wants the state police to investigate a possible unauthorized accessing of privileged computerized financial information.

Connecticut Fire Department effectively using new incident command protocol

Two years after the handling of the fire that destroyed Delaney’s Restaurant and Tap Room raised concerns about fire operations, New Haven’s Fire Department runs its scenes much more effectively, according to Acting Fire Chief Matthew Marcarelli. “We’ve had a lot of improvements over the last few years,” Marcarelli said.

Michigan firefighters charity agrees to dissolve and pay $144,000 after scam accusations

The nonprofit Firefighters Support Services' is halting operations amid accusations of withholding funds intended to help firefighters and victims of fire. Attorney General Bill Schuette's office says the group and its professional fundraiser, Associated Community Services of Southfield, raised funds through misleading phone calls, and more than 90 percent of donations went elsewhere.

Ohio department's new $800K fire engine doesn’t fit inside firehouse

You may have seen Lebanon firefighters training on it, testing out all the bells and whistles on their new $867,000 ladder truck. It's hard to miss, especially since it's been parked outside of the fire station and not inside. It doesn't fit inside either firehouse. Taxpayers had concerns and came to WLWT for answers.
