New Seattle medical clinic focused only on treating firefighters

VIDEO- A new primary care clinic focused on treating Seattle firefighters is set to open this week. The clinic will be run by Qliance, a Seattle-based membership-based company, and will be located above Seattle’s Fire Station 2 in Belltown. The International Association of Fire Fighters cites studies showing firefighters face a high risk for heart disease, cancer, chronic respiratory disease, hepatitis and stress.

Firefighters battle blaze at old Seattle Times building

Firefighters were once again called to the former Seattle Times headquarters Wednesday night after a fire broke out inside the vacant building. The building, located at John Street and Fairview Avenue, has been popular with transients since the Times left in 2011. First responders, businesses get in on Pokemon craze in Clark County

Everyone is getting in on the Pokemon Go craze. “So I've got a Weedle here, a single Pokemon,” said Grady Dunlap who found the digital character while using the Pokemon Go app and walking around Clark County Fire District 6’s Station 61. The point of the game is to explore the real world and capture Pokemon.

Wildfire response challenges in Okanogan County

In Okanogan County, Commissioner Jim DeTro describes the old way of fighting fire as rushing in with resources to protect people and property. But he says the new method of attack focuses too heavily on managing the wildfire. "We need to change things fundamentally. We have to go back to fighting fires and not managing fires, and that comes right back to initial attack," said DeTro.
