Several New York fire departments warn Pokemon GO gamers

Attention, Pokemon gamers: If the new Pokemon GO app tells you to go to a local fire station, government compound or even the middle of the road for a "Poke Stop," don't go there. Several Central New York fire and police departments are warning gamers not to try to "catch monsters" on their property, for the safety of both emergency crews and the public.

Public opinion sway Clarkston council to fully staff firefighters' shifts for now

New information about Clarkston firefighters and your public safety. The mayor and city council has decided they'll keep shifts fully staffed, but this decision didn't come without emotional pleas from the public. New medical clinic focused only on treating Seattle firefighters

A new primary care clinic focused on treating Seattle firefighters is set to open this week. The clinic will be run by Qliance, a Seattle-based membership-based company, and will be located above Seattle’s Fire Station 2 in Belltown. The International Association of Fire Fighters cites studies showing firefighters face a high risk for heart disease, cancer, chronic respiratory disease, hepatitis and stress.

Man Hits Augusta (GA) Fire Apparatus, Dies Instantly

A man was killed after striking a fire truck Tuesday on Mike Padgett Highway. The Richmond County Sheriff's Office and Augusta Fire Department were working a wreck with injuries around 2 p.m., when a vehicle failed to slow down for the wreck and struck the non-moving fire engine on Mike Padgett Highway near Horseshoe Road.
Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen said Collins, of Clark Road, hit the rear of the fire truck and died instantly. He was pronounced dead at 2:10 p.m.

Collins was driving a Ford Escape and had to be extricated from the vehicle. Emergency equipment on the fire truck was flashing, Bowen confirmed.
