Buckley Fire Department recognized for volunteer firefighter efforts

The Buckley Fire Department has been honored with the Fire House Award by the Washington State Fire Fighters' Association. Fire Chief Alan Predmore accepted the award June 4 in Wenatchee, during an awards banquet at the WSFFA's 93th annual conference. "It came as a complete surprise to us," Predmore said of the award, which was given this year for the first time.

2016 WFAS Annual Conference in Leavenworth a Success!

Thank you to all our WFAS members that were able to attend this past year's conference in Leavenworth! For those of you that missed out, a few highlights included lessons learned from a number of local Fire Chiefs on recent Washington State disasters we have encountered, tips for adapting to change, {WOODY}, and the highly popular casino night!

Your 2016 WFAS Board is already hard at work planning for the 2017, 2018 and even 2019 conferences! We will be meeting this friday in Cle Elem to gather our ideas and put our heads together. 

We have put together a survey for all members, to gather feedback on the recent conference, as well as overall suggestions. The deadline is this Friday, June 17th to be entered in the drawing for WFAS merch for filling out the survey.

Atkinson (NH) Fire Department Places HME Rescue-Pumper in Service

The Atkinson (NH) Fire Department has recently taken delivery of an all new custom HME, Incorporated, rescue-pumper. Built on an HME 1871-W chassis and with an MFDxl 12-inch raised roof cab, it is powered by a Cummins ISL9 450-hp EPA 13 engine. The 47” pump house combines a Hale Q-Max pump with HME Hydra Technology™. The fire truck also features aluminum wheels, 40-amp ProMariner battery charger, 320-amp Leece-Neville alternator, LED interior lighting package, a backup camera system, two full-height EMS cabinets, a six-inch bumper extension, left and right running board hosewell, a FoamPro 2001 foam system with a 30-gallon tank, two 1.5-inch speedlays and one 2.5-inch. The stainless steel body has 176 cubic feet of compartment storage, a 90-cubic-foot hosebed, 1,800-gallon water tank, FRC scene lights and shelves, trays, and tool boards throughout.
