New Jersey EMTs resign after live-streaming White Castle run while ignoring 911 call

The EMTs who were apparently caught live-streaming their choice to stay on a fast food drive-thru line while calls for emergency service were coming in have resigned, as a hospital investigation into the incident continues. "The individuals involved in this matter have resigned their employment with University Hospital as a result of their inappropriate conduct, which violated numerous Hospital policies, including our clear guidance on emergency response protocols, the use of social media, and our code of conduct," hospital spokeswoman Stacie Newton said in a statement to NJ Advance Media Tuesday.

Two people killed, three injured in semi-truck crash on I-5 near Lacey

Two people were killed and three others injured Tuesday evening when as many as 10 vehicles -- including two semi-trucks -- crashed on I-5 near Lacey. The crash happened at about 5:45 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-5 near Marvin Road.. The State Patrol said a semi-truck driver from Surrey, B.C. was northbound and driving up on slowing traffic.

Follow Up: Port Orchard fire damages historic home, garages

A fire early Tuesday severely damaged a house that is more than 100 years old, destroyed a garage and charred a neighboring garage. At about 1:30 a.m., South Kitsap Fire and Rescue crews were sent to the 700 block of Kitsap Street. They found an older two-story, daylight-basement home ablaze. A passer-by on Bay Street had seen the flames and rousted the three adult occupants.
