Active shooters, natural disasters, fires and medical issues -- all require first responders to navigate campuses quickly.
"We always learn from situations," St. Louis County Police Department Chief of Police Kenneth Gregory said police learned about Central Visual and Performing Arts High School (CVPA).

VIDEO: A Wichita firefighter is preparing to fight a Tulsa police officer, all for a good cause. Newton native Carlye Anderson is training for a boxing match that will serve as a fundraiser for the Special Olympics.
The former national champion gymnast first stepped foot into the boxing ring two years ago.

There is a push from Maine lawmakers to require all police officers, corrections officers, and municipal firefighters to carry Narcan while on duty.
The bill is expected to be presented on Monday. The bill would require the carrying of Narcan, which is used to treat people experiencing an overdose, as well as additional training on its use.

The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) responded to a large fire in a vacant building in south Seattle Tuesday morning.
The fire near the 2300 block of South Plum Street was first reported around 5:05 a.m.
Photos from a Washington State Department of Transportation camera showed large plumes of smoke coming from the area while crews poured water on the fire using aerial ladders.
