One morning the newspaper headlines read that research discovered that eggs are the perfect food for perfect health. The next day they read that scientists have found that eating eggs for breakfast is like holding a loaded gun to your head. It is so confusing that it makes you just want to eat a donut, doesn't it? One of the biggest wildfires in Stevens County was the Marble Valley fire but when firefighters called for backup, they were told it would not be coming. The Marble Valley Fire broke out just south of Colville on August 14. It has burned more than 3,000 acres. The smoke has finally cleared and the flames are gone.

Firefighters were quick to battle a fire that broke out Monday night near the 2000 block of 14th Ave S on Beacon Hill. Seattle Fire Department arrived at the apartment building just after 9 p.m. They were alerted to the fire after someone had called 9-1-1 saying they could see smoke and flames coming from the building.
