Firefighter Michael Agostinelli was moonlighting on the set of a new TV show about a Chicago trauma center when he smelled smoke and noticed a light haze rising from the back of a house a few doors down in Kenwood. "I knew it wasn't part of the scene," said Agostinelli, who was working as a medic for the cast and crew on the set of the "Chicago Med" show.

Firefighters with bullet proof vests and a new active shooter policy are now a part of the response plan in King County, according to Sheriff John Urquhart.
"This is a huge change not only us, but for the fire department," said Sheriff Urquhart.
The old protocol would have firefighters and paramedics wait for police to secure the scene.

Kitsap County Fire District 7 is asking South Kitsap residents served by South Kitsap Fire and Rescue to approve a bond measure to issue $4.9 million in general obligation funds through Proposition 1, which would be collected from excess property taxes annually over five years.
The proposition would authorize the fire district to upgrade its apparatus, and fire and safety equipment.
