An Edmonds artist is paying tribute to three men who died fighting the Washington wildfires. Andrew Zajac, Richard Wheeler, and Tom Zbyszewski died last week in a fire in Twisp, Washington.
Michael Reagan is an artist who has drawn more than 4300 portraits of fallen soldiers and delivered them to their families for free.

Citing an incredible outpouring of support and volunteers offering to fight the Washington wildfires, the state said it has met its goals and will close its volunteer-intake centers in central Washington on Thursday.
“The outpouring of support has been incredibly heartwarming and humbling,” said Mary Verner, deputy for DNR’s statewide wildfire program.

An arson suspect was arrested less than an hour after a Washington Department of Transportation employee spotted someone lighting a fire along I-5 Wednesday, authorities said.
Around 3:30 p.m., a tweet sent by Trooper Bourland with Washington State Patrol warned of a sudden grass fire along the northbound lanes of I-5 near the Gee Creek Rest Area, just south of Ridgefield.
