State pulls teen inmates from fire line after shooting

A team of juvenile inmates helping the firefight in eastern Washington was pulled from the fire line Monday after one of the troubled teens escaped and tried to take his own life. A team of 20 juvenile inmates from the Nesalle Youth Camp had been part of a program working alongside the Department of Natural Resources, helping bring Washington's relentless fires under control.

Thieves steal dash cam with fire footage from Washington firetruck

Two thieves in Stevens County picked an unlikely target Monday morning: the firefighters at Stevens County Fire District 7. Crews from the all-volunteer department saw two young men in hoodies running away from a truck parked outside the station just before 5 a.m. Monday, Fire Chief Joe Paccerelli said.

FDNY firefighter rushes into burning Brooklyn home; brings out 2-year old boy

A toddler is in critical condition after an early-morning house fire in Brooklyn. The flames broke out around 1 a.m. on Avenue P in Marine Park, and it was placed under control about 45 minutes later. Jean Pierre lost his home, but his family is still intact. The fire destroyed everything inside his home and almost killed his 2-year-old son Chase.

Oregon firefighter fired, charged in sexual assault of colleague
