Ashland’s second fire station has started dispatching vehicles, reports Ashland Source.

Since July, the fire station began dispatching its newly donated fire truck and an ambulance while there remain a few finishing touches on the $2.85 million project.

Construction started on the fire station in October and was completed in late June. The 12,000 square-foot facility features a two-and-a-half bay garage, a mezzanine and equipment platform, administrative spaces and living quarters.

The Middleton Township Fire Department is hosting a push-in ceremony to celebrate the arrival of a new fire truck, reports Sentinel-Tribune.

The truck will be dedicated to former firefighter and captain who worked for the fire department for 50 years.

West Jordan Fire celebrated the arrival of two new fire trucks, reports My City Journals.

In addition to a wet-down ceremony, a bagpiper and flag ceremony welcomed the trucks and the crowd in attendance.

The two new trucks cost $700,000 and will replace trucks that will now be reserved in the fleet. The new trucks have a 500-gallon water tank capacity and a 1,500-gallon-per-minute pump.

The Salem (OH) Fire Department recently received Engine 2—its 2021 Sutphen pumper, which officials hope will help with reliability and quicker access to life-saving tools, reports salemnews.net.

The biggest difference between Engine 2 and its predecessor is that all of the power equipment on it is battery powered. And about 80% of its tools are new, with some equipment being switched over from old Engine 2. The new apparatus can carry 1,000 gallons of water and can pump 2,000 gallons per minute.

The apparatus was ordered last year and manufactured by Sutphen in Ohio. Once the truck was built and passed inspection, it was delivered to Springfield for Fire and Marine Inc. to install custom shelves and cabinets, and new equipment.

The truck itself was $562,000, but the total cost after adding all the equipment was $670,000. City officials say the city secured a five-year note of $670,000 from Farmers National Bank at 2.35 percent to pay for the truck. The loan payment is $75,961 per year. After five years, the note will be rewritten.

Plans call for the eventual posting on govdeals.com of old Engine 2—a 2004 American LaFrance, which was used for medicals and had logged 7,732 hours.
