The purpose of the Fire Mechanics Section is to promote standardization of fire apparatus and equipment preventative maintenance, improve safety standards and practices, promote workshops, conferences, and seminars related to the purposes of this Section, and to promote cost savings through standardization of building and equipment purchasing and maintenance.

Look at Kirksville (MO) Fire Department's Budget

Kirksville City Council members and city staff reviewed the entire 2018 proposed budget during a study session meeting last week. The city’s budget is expected to have about $38.2 million in total expenditures.

The Kirksville Fire Department is seeking about $2 million for department expenditures, which is about an $88,000 difference when compared to the its 2017 adopted budget of $1.9 million.

 

The Kirksville Fire Department is preparing to receive its new fire truck in 2018.

In April, the Kirksville City Council approved the purchase of a fire truck from the Sutphen Corporation; and in June, the City Council approved a financing agreement with U.S. Bancorp for the purchase of the truck.

Fire Apparatus Crashes After Responding to Washington County (OH) Fire

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says at least one fire fighter was taken to the hospital, and the roadway was closed for a short time.

Augusta's first motorized firetruck and it's former owner reunited after five years

Maclay said it was important to him the truck be returned to the department which first purchased it, Augusta, where it was the first piece of fire apparatus powered by an engine, instead of horses.

Audette’s plans to preserve and display it in a museum of other department artifacts and photographs “means so much to me I can’t tell you,” Maclay said. “When I learned this was Augusta’s first truck, and I wasn’t able to handle it anymore, I said it’s got to go back to Augusta. You’ve got to be a fireman to appreciate that and what it’s like to get back a piece of equipment like this, their first motorized truck.”

WATCH: Theodore Fire Engine Used for Baby Gender Reveal

Jonathan and Crystal waited patiently next to the truck as the colored water shot from the fire hose, revealing they’re expecting a little girl.  “Don’t think words could express the love, joy and excitement that we were feeling. A little girl is all we have wanted since we found out we were expecting.  We already have 2 boys and we’re really hoping that we could get a little girl,” says Jonathan.
