Governor recognizes new Kentucky firehouse, thanks department for rescue efforts

PHOTOS: “This is phenomenal,” the governor gushed, following his speech to a large crowd of community members. “It is exactly what these firefighters deserve,” he continued. The $6.5 million facility is state-of-the-art and will allow for better response times, in addition to improving the living and working conditions for department members.

Vintage fire truck finds new home in Maine

PHOTOS: Unused, unwanted and in disrepair, an old fire truck that began service in Rockport when President Dwight D. Eisenhower was in the White House has been sold. But the 1928 American LaFrance ladder truck will not be far away when it settles soon into its new home, a cavernous, backyard former chicken coop on Barnstown Road.

Palisades Park Fire in Spokane: All evacuations downgraded to Level 1, fire 50% contained

The Palisades Fire is now 50% contained as of Monday morning. According to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), at least 50 firefighters will be on scene Monday, including three 10-person crews, six engines and three tenders. DNR states that all level 3 evacuations have been downgraded and are still holding at level 1.

Paraglider dies after crashing into tree near Tiger Mountain

A paraglider died after crashing into a tree near Tiger Mountain near Issaquah Sunday evening. Eastside Fire and Rescue responded to rescue the paraglider on Tiger Mountain Road Southeast near Southeast 144th Place. The paraglider was stranded about 30 feet up a tree, according to Eastside Fire and Rescue.

Crews respond to 3-alarm brush fire in North Bend

Eastside Fire and Rescue units are battling a three-alarm brush fire in North Bend near the 47300 block of Southeast Grouse Ridge Access Road. EF&R first tweeted about the fire just after 5 p.m. Sunday. About 15 minutes later, the department announced that the response had been upgraded to a third alarm.
