‘So There's Been a Nuclear Attack': New PSA Despite ‘Low' Likelihood of Strike in New York City

VIDEO: New York City launched its newest PSA on Monday with a focus on preparing for a possible nuclear attack. "While the likelihood of a nuclear weapon incident occurring in/near New York City is very low, it is important New Yorkers know the steps to stay safe," the NYC Emergency Management Department said in its press release.

Longview house fire displaces family, leaves pet dead

A family is looking for a place to live and coping with the loss of a dog following a fire Monday night. Shortly after 8:00 p.m., on July 11, Longview Fire Department responded to a call of a house on fire near the intersection of Washington Way and 30th avenue. A passerby called to report that smoke and flames were visible from the front door.

Deer Park aerial firefighter says he's been hooked on fighting fires for 23 years

With rising temperatures breaching 90 degrees Tuesday and holding high through the week, local fire crews are preparing for the chance of wildfires cropping up. One local pilot has been fighting fires from the air for almost half a century. “I think it kind of gets in your blood,” said Pilot Ross Rogerson.

Smoke fills the air, causes heavy traffic from residential fire in Highline

A residential fire in Highline is causing heavy traffic and making a scene with ample smoke filling the air. All lanes northbound on SR 509 are blocked on South Cloverdale Street in south Seattle as of 10 a.m., according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. All residents are safe and no injuries have been reported, fire crews said.

Midwest Fire Hires Scott Mischke as Sales Representative

(LUVERNE, MN) 7/11/22— Midwest Fire Equipment & Repair Company (Midwest Fire) announced today that the company has hired Scott Mischke as a sales representative to their growing team.

Mischke, a Twin Cities, Minn. native, obtained a degree in Fire Science from Anoka Hennepin Technical College in Brooklyn Park, Minn. Mischke served as a firefighter for 18 years. He has served in various roles of the fire service with knowledge that includes include condition assessment, fire containment, technical rescues, extrication, public education, emergency medical response, etc. and he was once named Firefighter of the Year for his leadership, personal development, and service.

For the past 10 years, Scott worked as an Aftermarket Sales & Service Representative for Star Equipment, Inc. and for the past four years Scott has led & overseen the development of a new Star Equipment location in Fargo, N.D. Mischke and his family are relocating to the Luverne, Minn. area for this new opportunity with Midwest Fire.
