Mural Honoring 3 Illinois Firefighters Killed In 1985 Arson Will Be Restored

A decades-old Avondale mural painted to memorialize firefighters who died in a massive arson fire is getting a facelift. Ald. Carlos Ramirez-Rosa (35th) is teaming up with the city to restore the large Fireman’s Memorial Park mural overlooking the busy intersection of Diversey, Milwaukee and Kimball avenues.

Seattle fire crews battle apartment fire

VIDEO: Seattle fire crews responded to a two-alarm residential fire near the 4800 block of Terrace Drive Northeast on Thursday. The fire department first tweeted about the fire just after 3 p.m. Around 3:30 p.m., Seattle Fire tweeted that crews had gotten water onto the fire and contained it to the attic of a three-story apartment building.

Department of Natural Resources Prepositions Aircraft in NW Region

In spite of the wet spring that’s delaying severe wildfires across the state, the heart of Washington’s fire season is just around the corner. To stay prepared, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is once again staging an agency helicopter at Big Lake Fire Department for the summer starting June 21.

Photos: Edinburgh (IN) Breaks Ground on New Fire Station

As FA reported, on Monday, Edinburgh broke ground on its new fire station.

The new facility, which will be located behind Edmundson RV on CR 900N, is scheduled for completion in spring 2023.

Two NC Fire Departments Sharing Station

The Kernersville Fire Rescue Department and the Beeson Crossroads Fire & Rescue Department are now sharing a station, which will soon be flush with renovations.

Kernersville Monday moved into Beeson’s Station 26 at 1105 Old Salem Rd.

Following about $3.1 million in renovations, according to a report in journalnow.com, the facility will be renamed Beeson Crossroads Fire Rescue/Kernersville Fire Rescue, Station 26/Engine 44.

The project, which you can learn more about below, is expected to be completed in spring 2024. An RFQ was issued, which you can see below, but it has since been canceled and will be re-advertised:
