Kennewick fire officials say a mother and her baby son were flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after fire engulfed their manufactured home Tuesday.
Firefighters rescued the baby from the home near the Benton County Fairgrounds and recuscitated him, Battalion Chief Kevin Crowley said.
Fire Chief Vince Beasley said the boy then began breathing on his own and was transported to Trios Southridge Hospital.

Two Skagit County fire districts had something to celebrate after Tuesday evening’s preliminary election results, while two others remained hopeful their luck might change.
With preliminary numbers in, voters in the Clear Lake and Big Lake areas were rejecting a proposal on behalf of Fire Districts 4 and 9 — the districts that represent the areas — to merge into one regional fire authority called Lakeside Fire and Rescue.

A proposed maintenance and operations levy for Lewis County Fire District 15 in Winlock is passing as of Tuesday night with 66 percent of the vote.
A total of 1,094 votes were cast in the ballot measure, with 726 voting in favor of the levy.
The levy is expected to collect $215,000 per year from 2018 through 2021 and is primarily intended to allow the district to hire an additional full-time firefighter to augment its weekday shifts, according to the district.

Roger Ferris, executive director of the commissioners association, presented Ruud with two awards for service during its 69th annual conference in Spokane on Oct.

Spokane voters rejected a proposal that would have fined certain coal and oil trains traveling through downtown.
Proposition 2 was failing with only 41 percent of votes cast in favor of the measure, which had been criticized as illegal and potentially embroiling the city in costly legal battles.
The initiative began life as a proposal before the City Council last summer.
