VIDEOS: A technology born right in the Queen City is now keeping firefighters safe nationwide. "Florian" is a piece of software that tracks first responders when in burning buildings. The idea for this technology was born out of tragedy, when two Buffalo firefighters were killed responding to a fire on Genesee Street, back in 2009.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Dozens of displaced residents were distraught outside in Interbay Thursday morning after 25 tiny homes were damaged in a fire. The fire occurred around 2:43 a.m. and the entire property — along Elliott Avenue West, between Ballard and the waterfront — needed to be evacuated. The cause of the fire is unknown, but Seattle police said one resident is in custody.

VIDEO: State Route 20 closed late Wednesday night due to a wildfire burning in the North Cascades. The fire is burning near Easy Pass, which is about 23 miles east of Diablo Lake, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). Eastbound SR 20 is closed near Granite Creek at milepost 148.

VIDEOS: The Spokane Fire Department is asking the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in two arson cases in the Moran Prairie neighborhood. According to a Spokane Fire Department spokesperson, the suspect was recorded igniting two fires at the Ace Hardware store on South Regal Street. Video shows the suspect lighting a pile of pallets on July 4, and a pile of crushed cardboard on July 11.

PHOTOS: A fire destroyed an East Brainerd home that was under construction and caused extensive damage to another newly built house next door that was for sale. Six other structures also sustained exposure damage from the heat. Firefighters were dispatched to the home that was fully engulfed in flames in the 1800 block of Oakvale Drive at 6:08 on Tuesday, July 16.
