Fireworks likely caused 5-acre fire near Graham that burned multiple buildings

PHOTO: The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department says fireworks were the likely cause of a 5–6-acre fire that burned several buildings near Graham Monday afternoon. Around 2:45 p.m. Monday, fire crews from multiple departments were called to a 2-alarm fire near 260th Street East and 50th Avenue East in the Elk Plain area near Graham.

CARES programs help take strain off Washington emergency departments

VIDEO: A 911 call is typically the first call for help, but Poulsbo Fire Chief Jim Gillard told FOX 13 News the CARES program is helping aid those calls. "What’s really neat is, we’re not reducing the number of times people call 911, we’re reducing the number of emergencies they’re having that require them to call 911 or utilize an emergency department," Gillard said.

Flames leap from car fire, halting traffic on I-405 in Renton

VIDEO: A car caught on fire in the righthand lane of Interstate 405, heading northbound at State Route 167 in Renton on Wednesday morning. Rush hour traffic was almost entirely halted in the area as fire crews put out the flames and cleared up the road. According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the right two lanes were blocked, and travelers were told to expect delays.

Caught on Camera: Equipment stolen from fire department in Washington

VIDEO: A fire department in Pierce County is now missing tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of gear after it was stolen in the middle of the night last week. And whoever did it may be connected to another crime that same night, just a few miles away. More than $30,000 worth of fire gear and equipment was stolen from the Key Peninsula Fire Department last Thursday.
