VIDEO: New images from Stehekin show flames and smoldering brush close to the main road into town from where the ferry docks.
The flames are part of the Pioneer Fire, which is burning more than 37,000 acres in Chelan County. The fire started June 8 and has been creeping closer to the town of Stehekin since late July, prompting a Level 3, get out now, evacuation alert.

PHOTOS: Spokane firefighters rescued a dog after its head became stuck in a concrete wall. According to the Spokane Fire Department (SFD), firefighters responded to a call about a dog whose head was trapped in a concrete block wall. Using a hydraulic spreader from their vehicle extrication equipment, they carefully crushed part of the block, allowing the dog to free itself without injury.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Four Layton Fire Department medics are recovering from serious injuries after their ambulance rolled in a crash.
Layton city officials reported that the medical team was transporting an elderly patient to McKay Dee Hospital when they collided with an SUV at the intersection of 5600 South and Harrison Boulevard in South Ogden Monday.

VIDEO: On Tuesday, the Gautier Fire Department celebrated the arrival of a brand new fire truck.
The new truck, themed after the Gautier Gators, shows off community pride for the local school system.
The color has reflective material in the stripes and many new lights.
Officials with the fire department say the new truck just needs its radio and hoses attached and should be ready to get on the road next week.
