The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man after he fired shots at fire and EMS officials and then fled from the scene in a fire vehicle. Officials state around 11:45 a.m. Rowan County emergency services and Atwell Fire Department responded to Shinn Farm Road and Hwy. 152 in regards to an unconscious male sitting in a vehicle.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Two people are dead after a motorcycle crashed into a Seattle Fire Department truck in Queen Anne Monday morning. The fatal crash occurred at 3:16 a.m., and the Seattle Police Department said traffic on the 1000 block of Queen Anne Avenue North is closed going all directions. According to police, the motorcycle was speeding eastbound on Prospect Street and ran a stop sign before it crashed into the SFD ladder truck, which was responding to a fire-alarm call and had its lights on.

Fire officials have reported that the Cougar Creek Fire, which has been burning since July 15, 2024, southwest of Clarkston, Washington, has reached 80% containment as of Monday morning. The fire has scorched 24,091 acres in the rugged terrain near the Grand Ronde River and Highway 129 intersection, and its cause remains under investigation.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A logging truck flipped over in a crash that left its trailer hanging over a wall on a highway in New Hampshire on Friday morning. The southbound side of Interstate 293 near Exit 6 in Manchester was closed to traffic following the wreck, according to New Hampshire State Police. The truck driver and the driver of a sedan also involved in the crash were taken to Elliot Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
