Firefighters from Yakima and the Washington State Department of Natural Resources helped douse the 10 acre Arboretum Fire in Yakima Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
The fire was first reported at about 8:00 pm in the 3300 block of Birchfield Road near Nob Hill Auto Wrecking. Firefighters quickly attacked the fire from the perimeter as they dealt with burning brush among all the salvaged vehicles.

VIDEO: A new video released Tuesday shows Tacoma police working to extinguish a boat fire on the northeast end of Commencement Bay on July 4.
The incident began when the boat suddenly erupted in flames, prompting a swift response from the Tacoma Police Department Marine Services Unit (MSU).
The MSU quickly rescued two people and their cat from the bay’s cold waters.

VIDEO: Emergency responders with the Kansas City Fire Department helped rescue two people from an abandoned mine shaft early Sunday morning. Authorities say they got the victims out in about 30 minutes.
“The cave was pitch black,” KCFD Fire Captain Chris Vandermillion said.
“We were fortunate to have lights, ropes and that helped in finding them.
