VIDEO: Day 7 of the 2024 Paris Olympics has come to a close. All week, several have been talking about different iconic moments that have taken place. Especially, the U.S. men’s gymnastics team’s historic bronze medal win that broke the team’s 16-year dry spell. But did you know one of the people on the 2008 team calls Albuquerque home? Local gymnast turned firefighter Joseph Hagerty helped the U.

EMS in Michigan to become nation's first provider to use Stryker's 'next gen' defibrillator

Two medical teams in Michigan are working together to launch the "nex gen" defibrillator. Life EMS, a West Michigan-owner provider, is anticipated to be the first emergency service organization in the nation to use Stryker's newest medical device, LIFEPAK 35, according to officials. The device is expected to use technology that can reduce how many pauses there are during chest compressions.

Found on Facebook, 77-year-old fire truck returns home to New York department

VIDEO: You can find a lot on Facebook Marketplace, even a long-lost fire truck. A 1947 Dodge pumper truck belonged to the Chaumont Volunteer Fire Department decades ago but in the 90s, it disappeared after the shop where it was being worked on closed. Fast forward 30 years and a lucky scroll through the social media platform’s shop turned up the 77-year-old missing truck.

Retreat Fire burns 31,514 acres near Naches, reaches 37% containment

The wildfire burning 14 miles southwest of Naches, Wash., is now 37% contained, according to an update from fire officials Thursday. The Retreat Fire started on July 23 and so far has burned approximately 31,514 acres in eastern Washington. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. On Thursday, officials said fire operations are complete on the east side of the fire and crews are mopping up and securing control lines on the south and east side of the fire.

New scam in White Swan targeting residents for disaster assistance after Slide Ranch fire

Yakima County Fire District 5 said a new scam is going around White Swan. According to YCFD5, random people are going door to door in White Swan and asking residents for their information so they can receive disaster assistance. This is specifically regarding assistance after the Slide Ranch fire that destroyed more than 16 structures, including family homes.
