The Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department announced that Tuesday it took delivery of a 3,000-gallon tanker donated from the Northwest Volunteer Fire Department:
“Members of the Beech Grove VFD traveled to Northwest Volunteer Fire Department in Harris County this morning to accept the donation of a 3,000-gallon tanker truck.
“Northwest VFD and Harris County ESD 20 selected the Beech Grove VFD as the recipient of the donation of the 1994 Freightliner/KME 3,000 gallon tanker, refurbished in 2015.

Four people were injured Wednesday morning when a Detroit fire truck and an SUV crashed as the fire truck was responding to a fire, according to reports from ABC and NBC.
Detroit fire officials say the accident happened as the apparatus was responding to a call at 8 a.m. on Wednesday. As crews were heading to an emergency, they crashed with an SUV on Houston-Whittier and Dickerson on the city’s east side.

Four Detroit Firefighters, Driver Hurt in Fire Truck Crash
Two firefighters were injured and transported to the hospital along with two people in the SUV. Two additional firefighters were taken to the hospital to be checked out, the reports say. The two injured firefighters are veterans with more than 15 years of service.
The details of the accident are still under investigation. The SUV sustained significant damage and the fire truck was also damaged and wound up in the yard of a house at the accident scene.

After being without its main engine for the better part of a year and a half, the Claysburg Volunteer Fire Company has taken delivery of a new $400,000 engine.
The new Spartan truck replaced the loaner from the Alum Bank Volunteer Fire Company in Bedford County.
The community stepped up to help pay for the apparatus, which is officially in service.

Highway 97A was briefly closed early Wednesday morning while firefighters extinguished an oven fire at Keyes Fibre in North Wenatchee.
Chelan County Fire District 1 responded to a commercial fire alarm at Keyes at 2:14 a.m. and arrived to find the building filling with smoke coming from one of the company’s large ovens.
