The Union City Fire Department has added a 75-foot aerial ladder to its fleet. The fire truck, which pumps 2,500 gallons per minute and has a 500-gallon water tank, replaces a 43-year-old ladder.

The apparatus was previously owned by Farmington Hills.

The Concord Fire Department’s Station 12 is now fully operational and in service, following this past week’s ribbon-cutting ceremony. Footage of the event can be seen here.

The 17,000-square-foot facility houses Engine 12 and Battalion 3. It’s located at 3300 Roberta Rd.

Landis officials this week approved the consolidation of Fire Station 44 into Station 54 as well as the sale of fire trucks and the purchase of a new one, reports salisburypost.com.

The Monday vote, which required a tie-breaker from the mayor, was for a discussion on how to allocate its nearly $1 million of American Rescue Plan Act funding, the report says.

Before the potential purchase, Landis has spent $82,500 of its ARPA funding to date. Officials proposed using $300,000 from ARPA funds as a down payment for a new engine and financing the rest. The current estimate is borrowing $365,000 at a 4% interest rate across eight years and the town on the hook for $54,000 annually, according to the report.

Public Safety officials say selling Engines 581 and 442 and Brush Truck 447 and Squad 58 could generate around $165,000, which could cover the cost of a new station cascade system.

Following other local needs, Landis has $390,000 in ARPA funding remaining, which will be discussed at the board’s monthly meeting on Monday at 6 p.m.

Later this summer, a new 24,779-square-foot facility at Quantico Marine Corps Base will replace Fire Station 533, which will be demolished.

“If you have driven near the intersection of MCB-1 and MCB-2 on the west side of base, you have no doubt caught a glimpse of the impressive fire station under construction,” Quantico Fire & Emergency Services writes on Facebook.
