VIDEO: Right now a team of first responders is on their way to help with the search and rescue efforts in Ukraine.
One of them is a firefighter from San Diego County who helped make the mission possible.
"It's to help our fellow firefighters over there. That's what this is all about," said Eric Hille, an engineer with San Miguel Fire Rescue.

The Yakima Fire Department (YFD) was sent to a house fire on E. Chestnut Ave. near the E. Yakima Ave freeway entrance of I-82 Sunday afternoon.
YFD received a call about the fire at 2:15 pm. When crews arrived to the residence in the 1200 block of E. Chestnut Ave., they found smoke coming out of the eaves on all sides of the house, with heavy smoke coming from the back of the house.

Firefighting efforts were winding down after a structure fire on Penn Avenue in Rock Island Friday afternoon.
Douglas County Fire District 2 Spokesperson Kay McKellar said crews received the call just after 2:00 pm. Soon after, the incident commander arrived at the scene and reported a single-wide mobile home on fire, as well as some nearby tires.

A Bremerton man suffered burns and smoke inhalation in a fast-moving fire Saturday night at a four-unit apartment building near downtown.
It took fire crews from much of the Kitsap Peninsula several hours to knock down the flames, which destroyed the apartments and threatened nearby homes.
All the residents of the apartments survived, firefighters said, but a cat died in the blaze.
