Streetsboro (OH) dedicated a new fire station over the weekend, two years after voters appropriated the money for the facility, according to a report published by the Record-Courier.
According to the paper, voters approved the funds for the new station in May 2019 and the station was open with a ribbon cutting on Saturday as well as a ceremony and public tours with refreshments provided.
The station has a kitchen, sleeping quarters, training room, maintenance area and places to study, the newspaper reported. The first floor has two emergency vehicle bays divided by an alarm room and a stairwell leading to the second floor for sleeping, showering and exercising, the paper reported, adding that a special gear room is located near the apparatus bays with equipment to keep gear clean and reduce carcinogens.
