Ohio fire district wants title to firehouse building to pursue upgrades

VIDEO: The Cumberland Trail Fire District needs to make upgrades to its building and is having a difficult time doing so without ownership. "It would enable us to apply for some grants to make some modifications and upgrades to the facility without going through the city, or in the event that we need a low-interest loan," Fire Chief Tim Hall said.

First Responders, Families Remember 1996 ValuJet Crash in Florida Everglades

VIDEO: Today marks 25 years since ValuJet Flight 592 crashed in the Everglades, killing all 110 people on board. The plane took off from Miami to Atlanta on May 11, 1996. But about 10 minutes later, it plunged into the Everglades after oxygen canisters ignited a fire in the cargo. Lives were forever changed and the pain of the tragic day remains.

Man charged after allegedly biting firefighter during structure fire in West Virginia

A man has been charged after allegedly biting a firefighter during a structure fire in Adrian. On May 6, during a structure fire in Adrian, officers with the Buckhannon Police Department observed an individual in the rear bed of a pick-up truck “fighting with pedestrians as they were yelling for assistance,” according to a criminal complaint.

Over the years you’ve seen MyEverettNews showcase Everett Firefighters raising funds for the annual LLS Firefighter Stairclimb. That’s where firefighters in full bunker gear and airbottle climb 1,356 steps up the staircase of the Columbia Tower in downtown Seattle. Prior to the climb firefighters hold fundraising events.

Safe Fleet Fire, EMS, and Industrial Group announced the addition of Kyle Huston as Product Manager, Municipal Products for Elkhart Brass. In his new role, Kyle will be responsible for overseeing our complete portfolio of municipal products, including handline nozzles and ground appliances, from idea phase to end of life. Kyle will be central in the development of new products and will work closely with our customers to assure their unique requirements are met.

Kyle holds an Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rhodes State and a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Indiana Tech. In addition, Kyle processes a great deal of mechanical engineering experience, having most recently been an engineer at Medix Specialty Vehicles designing ambulances. Prior to his time at Medix, Kyle served as Project Leader at Honda North America leading the manufacturing planning of Powertrain Division products. He also served in the U.S. Navy Seabees for six years.
