TFT Releases New RADIUS™ Monitor

Highest Reach and Flow in a Self-Elevating Device

Valparaiso, IN, USA:   The new TFT RADIUS is an easy to install, deck mounted monitor that elevates above the top mounted equipment to get the stream where it counts. The above deck mounting is ideal for apparatus where below deck extension tubes do not fit. The RADIUS elevates by simply pulling the quick release knob and lifting until it’s in the locked position. The monitor also includes the ability to flow while in the stowed position.

The RADIUS raises the bar in this category of monitors by offering:

  • The highest reaching deck mounted monitor in its class at 23” (584 mm)
  • The highest flowing deck mounted monitor in its class at 1500gpm (6000 l/min)
  • 360-degree continuous horizontal rotation with a smaller swing radius than competitive models
  • A vertical range of 90 degrees up and 45 degrees down
  • A standard stowed sensor kit
  • Easy installation on 3” or 4” (76 or 102 mm) apparatus connections on new or in-service apparatus

Pair the RADIUS with a wide range of TFT smooth bore or combination nozzles.

Contact your TFT Territory Sales Manager or local TFT dealer for a demonstration to see how you can raise the bar in deck mounted monitors.

Ribbon Cut on New Substation in Bamberg County, South Carolina

According to a report from The Times and Democrat, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in Ernhardt, South Carolina for the new Rivers Bridge Fire Substation, which is expected to act as a prototype for other facilities.

In 2018, Bamberg County resident Ted Brandt donated the property used to build the substation. The county has since worked to secure a low-cost United States Department of Agriculture loan with the help of 6th District Congressman Jim Clyburn and U.S. Senator Tim Scott to construct the new facility.

A socially distanced crowd gathered in the bay of the new fire station and heard Bamberg County Administrator Joey Preston, Al Jenkins, Scott’s regional director, Larry Haynes, and Clint Carter all speak. Also in attendance were Bamberg County Council members, Ehrhardt Police and Fire Chief Chad Dilling, and Bamberg County Fire Coordinator Paul Eubanks.

The county is currently working on plans to build a similar fire substation in the Holman’s Bridge area of Denmark on Charleston-Augusta Highway. A new pumper truck will be purchased in 2021 in accordance with the Bamberg County equipment-replacement plan.

In Kansas Town, This Museum Tells The Stories Of The City's Firefighters

On Broadway, just south of Lincoln, is another Wichita landmark that is hidden in plain sight: the Kansas Firefighters Museum. The museum is small in size but uses the space wisely. The walls, ceilings — every square inch, it seems — is full of memorabilia. There are photos, plaques, logbooks and, best of all, old fire equipment.
