Now that Christmas has passed, it is time to focus on the new year and if you're planning to celebrate 2021, Pasco Fire Department has some reminders.
When it comes to lighting up the new year by sparking up some fireworks, those flames can cause damage if you aren't careful.
Make sure to set off fireworks in a clear area, have water nearby to soak them after you light them off, and check with your cities local ordinance to make sure they're allowed.

Crews on Tuesday removed the train cars carrying crude oil that derailed north of Bellingham and near the Canadian border last week.
BNSF employees and contractors loaded the cars onto flatbed trucks for removal from the derailment site in Custer. BNSF spokeswoman Courtney Wallace said all the cars would be removed on Tuesday.

Starbucks is giving back to local first responders.
Customers at two Spokane Starbucks locations have purchased 150 pounds of coffee to thank first responders for everything they do.
The donation drive took place over two weeks at the store at Pines and Sprague, with a little help from another Spokane area Starbucks.

A burglary and theft of $50,000 worth of firefighting and emergency equipment at a Woodland fire station could temporarily slow emergency services to the nearby rural community, fire officials said Tuesday.

Flames scorched the interior of a commercial building near downtown Kent on Tuesday morning after transients started a fire inside the building that got out of control, emergency officials said.
Firefighters and medics responded to the scene, in the 1600 block of West Meeker Street, at about 9 a.m. after receiving reports of smoke coming from the structure.
