The Spokane Valley Fire Department (SVFD) announced they received a $20,000 grant from State Farm to help prevent local wildland fire risks.
This grant is part of the 2024 Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) Fuels Reduction Program and will “look to help build a more comprehensive and sustainable wildfire mitigation program.

A house under construction caught fire late Monday night in Fishers, leaving crews scrambling to control the blaze before it spread to nearby buildings.
Crews from the Fishers Fire Department were called shortly before midnight to a building fire near the Breakwater neighborhood. That’s near Brooks School Road south of East 116th Street.

The maze was created by a captain in the Colerain Fire Department. It's meant to help firefighters practice using hydraulic air lifting bags. The reinforced rubber pillows can help lift cars or other heavy objects.
