Chelan Fire District No. 5, otherwise known as the Manson Volunteer Fire Association, recently made a new addition to its fleet with a Bronto Tower Ladder Truck. The new addition, Tower 51, is a 100' tower for firefighters to operate from a platform bucket in the air.
“We have a truck in like new condition for a considerable cost savings and this is really going to serve our community well,” said Chief Arnold Baker.

Thanks to a security camera installed by a renter, a Pasco man is in jail on arson and other suspected charges.
Sunday afternoon, 11-29, 70-year-old Ramon Augustine Sanchez was arrested by officers. Police say it involves Residential Burglary, Arson and Threats to Kill.
It seems Sanchez was seen on a security camera starting a fire in the room occupied by a female victim.

Spokane Valley Firefighters responded to a house fire on Thursday afternoon.
According to authorities, the home was vacant when the fire started and the fire was reported by the homeowner. Due to a limited water supply and the vacancy of the building, firefighters decided to battle the fire in defensive mode, meaning they stayed outside the house.

VIDEO: Fire crews were battling a blaze at a large two-story structure in downtown Los Angeles Wednesday evening, officials said.
The fire was reported around 6:10 p.m. on the 500 block of East Ninth Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department, where a number of fabric stores are located.
Firefighters had moved to a defensive operation to battle fire, which was escalated to a “greater alarm” incident.
