South Carolina firefighter to trek 100 miles for veterans, first responders and fallen heroes

Dorchester County firefighter and Summerville resident Dave Moore is planning to walk 100 miles across the Lowcountry in 48 hours to raise money for U.S. veterans, families of fallen heroes and local first responders. According to a news release from the Travis Manion Foundation, Moore will start his trek at 7 a.

Bellevue Firefighter Retires After 25 Years With The Department

Firefighter Pat Nipert is retiring from the Bellevue Fire Department after 25 years serving the city and a public safety career spanning more than four decades. The Bellevue Fire Department announced the retirement on Monday, shortly after the NORCOM dispatch center recounted his career highlights over the radio.

Tri-Cities sees growing number of new fire stations

New construction seems to be popping up all over and as more people move in, fire departments across the Tri-Cities are preparing by adding more fire stations. Over six new fire stations are in construction throughout Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco. A few are still in the planning stages or almost completed.

Strike team from Moses Lake, Chelan County on day 7 at the Palmer Fire in Okanogan County

The Mid Columbia Strike Team, consisting of firefighters from Grant County Fire District 5, the Moses Lake Fire Department and Chelan County Fire District 8, are on day 7 at the about 18,000-acre Palmer Fire burning in Okanogan County. The strike team, led by Grant County Fire District 5 Capt. Travis Svilar, includes three trucks from fire district 5 and one truck each from Moses Lake and Chelan County.
