Fire at front of WSP trooper’s Nooksack house called arson

A fire at the front door of a Washington State Patrol trooper’s house in Nooksack is being investigated as arson, said Chief Daniel MacPhee of the Everson Police Department. “The investigation is ongoing,” he said. This is McPhee’s account of what happened: Shortly before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22, neighbors noticed a fire at the front entrance of the residence.

Firefighters contain fire at New Mexico recycling yard

VIDEO: The Bernalillo County Fire Department and Albuquerque Fire Rescue have contained a large fire at a recycling yard in the area of Edith and Montano on Tuesday. “The smoke was very black, I don’t know if that means it’s hot or what; you could see the flames, they were probably higher than our building.
