Denver Health Paramedics Go Into Riots Without Hesitation To Treat Injured People

Four days and nights of protests, some of which turned violent, tested the training, planning, and safety equipment of Denver Health paramedics and EMTs. By Monday, first responders had treated more than 100 people involved in the protests, despite being attacked several times, Denver Health reported.

Statewide COVID-19 death toll increases by 6 amid weekend protests

After reporting zero new coronavirus deaths Sunday state health officials said there were six new deaths associated with COVID-19 Monday while a series of protests over George Floyd's death erupted in many cities across Washington during the weekend. The Washington Department of Health reported 21,977 COVID-19 cases in the state and 1,124 deaths, an increase of six from Sunday.

Bainbridge Island fire department's upgrades earn improved ranking from state bureau

Bainbridge Island is measurably safer these days and that could soon save property owners money. The Washington Surveying and Rating Bureau recently notified Bainbridge Island Fire Department officials the Fire Protection Class rating for Bainbridge has improved from a Class 5 to a Class 4, effective June 1.

Lightning sparks local fires, including 9,000-acre blaze south of Othello

As expected, some firefighters had their hands full as they combated the after-effects of Saturday’s lightning storms.
