FDNY hosts sendoff for 1,600 caregivers, 500 ambulances that came to New York, New Jersey during pandemic

The FDNY on Thursday hosted a ceremonial sendoff to medical response teams that traveled to New York City to assist with the coronavirus pandemic. For 60 days, American Medical Response (AMR) ambulance crews, Network Providers and support staff from across the country have worked in New York as part of the urgent response to the COVID-19 crisis.

Exploding ammunition delays firefighter efforts to extinguish Clark County apartment fire

128 new COVID-19 cases in Yakima County; No new deaths for third day in a row

Another high number of positive cases were reported by the Yakima Health District Thursday evening, including no new COVID-19 deaths. For the third day in a row, the health district is reporting no new deaths from the virus in Yakima County. YHD says 128 more people tested positive for COVID-19, now totaling 3,380 confirmed cases.

State issues order for widespread COVID-19 testing in nursing homes statewide

Gov. Jay Inslee announced Thursday that long-term care facilities statewide will have access to widespread testing for all their residents and staff in the coming weeks. An order issued by the state Department of Health says that all consenting residents in nursing homes will be tested within two weeks.

Cost of Spokane ambulance rides set to jump 28%

The starting cost of an ambulance ride in the city of Spokane will increase 28% under a new one-year agreement approved on Thursday. Though they bemoaned the sizable rate hike and timing of the proposal, members of the council reluctantly signed off on a new one-year contract with the city’s ambulance provider, American Medical Response.
