Since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, residents of hard-hit New York City have been talking about ambulance sirens and how the wailing never seems to stop.
They're not imagining things — but the reality is even grimmer than some may have guessed. A huge number of those ambulances are responding to fatal or near-fatal heart attacks suffered by New Yorkers whose true health issue may be COVID-19, the disease associated with the coronavirus.

Firefighters rescued three people from a grounded 65-foot vessel early Wednesday about four miles south of Kingston.
The drama unfolded at about 5:17 a.m. after the U.S. Coast Guard received a distress call from the vessel Kathleen, reporting that the boat was aground and taking on water off President Point.

CJ Tomlinson shuttered her dog daycare and boarding business earlier than other Seattle businesses out of an abundance of caution in the early days of coronavirus — but now she has made the difficult decision to reopen.
Her outpost, House of Ruff, has been deemed essential by Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, and Tomlinson said she has taken 25 reservations so far for Thursday when she puts out the puppy welcome mat.

A firefighter is being evaluated after sustaining a leg injury while battling a house fire.
According to the Spokane Valley Fire Department, the fire, which broke out in the 15300 block of E 9th Lane, is now out. Crews are continuing to work to extinguish any hot spots.
The fire started on the exterior back deck before spreading to the home, according to the Fire Department.
