A house fire that took off in downtown Chehalis Sunday afternoon completely destroyed the structure and injured one person, according to Chehalis Fire Chief Ted Hendershot.
The fire was reported at approximately 12:45 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Sixth Street and Washington Avenue where multiple fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze.

A small group of mostly volunteer firefighters armed with drip torches carefully set fire to a portion of Roslyn Ridge on Thursday afternoon.
The plume of smoke rising up and blowing east away from Roslyn sent a clear message to members of a historic community surrounded by forest. Local and state officials understand the seriousness of the wildfire risk and put a priority on prescribed fire as a vital measure.

Malden is a tiny farming town amidst eastern Washington’s “oceans of wheat fields.”
Or it was.
When a wind-driven firestorm raced into town on Labor Day, James Jacobs and most of the town's some 300 other residents lost their homes.

VIDEO: Authorities said a truck hit the Ellinwood Fire Department late Tuesday night.
The driver was heading westbound on U.S. 56 at over 100 mph. After the truck hit the building, it started on fire.
“We got the fire extinguished rather soon, and then, we had to extricate, took about 20 minutes to extricate the subject in the pickup,” said Ellinwood Fire Chief Chris Komarek.

VIDEO: At least 70 people are displaced after a major apartment fire in DeKalb County.
According to DeKalb Fire Capt. Deon Bentley, the fire ripped through the Alderwood Trail Apartments at 2947 N. DeKalb Dr.
Images from above the fire showed flames shooting through the roof of the building and plumes of white smoke billowing in the air as crews worked to put out the fire.
