Morrow County man with dementia taken to hospital

An update on the case of the man with dementia who went missing in Irrigon: Jose Fernandez has been found. The Morrow County Sheriff's Office said Thursday afternoon Fernandez "has been located and transported to local hospital - we have no information on his condition at this time." The sheriff's office said more information would be released soon.

Train collides with UPS truck in Seattle's Georgetown neighborhood

Emergency crews responded to a collision between a train and a package delivery truck at the edge of Seattle's Georgetown neighborhood Wednesday evening. According to the Seattle Fire Department, a train and a UPS truck collided in the 5500 block of Airport Way South sometime around 8 p.m. The fire department reports that they hit each other at low speed.

Bremerton man faces charges after buying insurance policy during fire

A Bremerton man was recently charged in Kitsap County District Court with one count of filing a false insurance claim on his renter’s insurance policy after an investigation by Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler’s Criminal Investigation Unit. According to the investigation, William Collick’s apartment building caught fire on Feb.

Update: Man investigated as suspect in a dozen arsons around Seattle Tuesday night

A 25-year-old man has been arrested as the suspect in one arson and could be connected to nearly a dozen other small fires that were set in trash bins around Seattle Tuesday night, police say. The man was spotted by transit security guards on Capitol Hill tossing cardboard and other items into a burning trash can at East Olive Way and Broadway around 2 a.

Wyoming firefighter will soon be new California fire chief

After vetting applicants as near as the Central Valley and as far off as Florida, the city of Visalia has selected a new fire chief: Daniel Griswold of Casper, Wyoming. "Without exception, everyone that had an opportunity to meet and talk with Dan really seemed to find him engaging, personable and approachable," City Manager Randy Groom said.
