Moses Lake Firefighters, Firefighters for Kids Foundation again teaming up to help families in need

Moses Lake firefighters, in partnership with the Firefighters for Kids Foundation, are seeking donations to help families in need this holiday season. People can bring new toys, clothes, diapers sizes two to five, and cash donations to the Moses Lake Fire Department Station 1, located at 701 E. Third Ave.

Fire Destroys RV In Chelan County

Chelan County Fire District 1 crews were dispatched to mobile home fire on Stemilt Creek Road early Monday morning. Battalion Chief Peter Rigelman says when firefighters arrived, they found an RV fully involved. “One occupant at the time of the fire, but she was able to get out. She did go to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Need for ninth ambulance ‘urgent,’ Wisconsin fire department says

The Madison Fire Department characterized the city’s need for another ambulance as “urgent” Monday. “We’ve asked for the last several budget cycles for an additional ambulance,” Chief Steve Davis told 27 News Monday evening. Navy SEAL rejected from FDNY gets OK to apply after law change

Gov. Andrew Cuomo OK’d legislation allowing Navy SEAL Shaun Donovan to join the city’s Fire Department as part of a package of bills he signed Monday commemorating the 100th anniversary of Veterans Day. Donovan was originally rejected from the FDNY because he missed the application deadline by nearly seven months due to his deployment.
