A Benton County firefighter, and his family, are without a home after their furnace caught fire and completely damaged the inside of their Kennewick house on Monday. Aaron Fryer is a Station Captain for Benton County Fire District 1. He has been a volunteer firefighter for about five years.
Aaron and his family were on vacation in Nevada when their furnace caught fire.

Chelan County Fire District 1 was dispatched to a commercial fire a little after 9 a.m. at the corner of 5th and Mission. Locals may know the area as the strip of businesses such as Garlinis, Jimmy Johns and others.
“Crews arrived to find light smoke coming from a vacant occupancy as well as the EarthWise pet store,” said Chief Brian Brett.

One person is missing and a second escaped following a residential fire early Tuesday morning.
Five fire departments responded at about 1:15 a.m. to a three-story house fire near U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 312, Brinnon Fire Chief Tim Manly said.
Units from Brinnon, Mason County Fire District 17, Quilcene Fire Rescue, Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue and Discovery Bay Fire Rescue were dispatched, he said.

No one was injured in a fire that caused an estimated $100,000 damage to a home in Edmonds’ Seaview neighborhood early Monday evening.
South County Fire spokesperson Leslie Hynes said the fire was reported at 5:37 p.m. in a rambler located in the 19300 block of 80th Place West. When firefighters arrived, they found flames on the front and side exterior of the home, and were able to put out the blaze in 10-15 minutes, Hynes said.

A Selah woman was injured trying to save her dog from a burning travel trailer Monday afternoon, firefighters said.
The fire was reported at 3:18 p.m. at 6722 N. Wenas Road, said Chief Gary Hanna of the Selah Fire Department. Firefighters arrived to find the travel trailer fully engulfed in flames and several other nearby mobile homes at risk of catching fire, Hanna said.
