Suspicious car fire spreads to home in Graham; suspects seen on surveillance video

VIDEO: The Pierce County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a suspicious car fire quickly spread to a home in Graham and caused significant damage. Neighbors told Q13 News that someone was driving in the 17700 block of 93rd Avenue Court in the gated Silver Creek community about 1 a.m. Thursday when they saw a car and house in flames.

Selah home severely damaged in early morning fire

A Selah home sustained major damage in a fire that broke out early Thursday morning. The fire broke out on the 2200 block of North Wenas Road before at 3:17 a.m., and witnesses saw flames coming from the front half of the home. Firefighters from Selah, Gleed, and Yakima fire departments arrived at the scene as the front half of the house was engulfed.

Woman found dead after fire destroys part of Gig Harbor duplex

Just one of two people who lived in a Gig Harbor duplex made it out alive from a fire Wednesday night. Thursday morning, firefighters found the body of a woman who could not escape the flames on the second floor of her home. The fire was reported around 11:30 p.m. when neighbors started frantically calling 911 for help.

Warm, Dry Conditions Continue to Cause Concern Among State's Fire Officials

Extended forecasts continue to predict a busy fire season as dry, warm weather settles in the area, and state officials and meteorologists warn of the ease in which a wildfire may be sparked in such conditions and the adverse effects high temperatures can have on vulnerable populations. “Our firefighters are concerned that we may see more wildfires this week due to rising temperatures and higher wind speeds,” said Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz, in a Department of Natural Resources press release.
