The Osseo City Council accepted a CenterPoint Energy Community Partnership Grant at its Monday, June 24, meeting. The council also hired a new city accountant, April Weller, at its meeting. She has previous experience working in a municipal setting. She will begin her position around July 15.

The City of New Brunswick has put into commission a new firetruck to assist the New Brunswick Fire Department with their daily calls for service around town. Engine 1 is a Ferrara-brand pumper truck that can hold 1,750 gallons of water and up to 25 gallons of foam for automotive fires.

The Greensboro Fire Department will build two new fire stations after city council recently approved two designs for construction. Chief Bobby Nugent said Station 7 and Station 56 are outdated and decades old. He explained that even though construction would cost millions, it saves the city money in the long run.
