Boston Children'S Hospital Patient Gets Fire Truck Ride Before Surgery

The boy and his family, from New Hampshire, who wished to remain unidentified, were headed to the hospital for a pre-operation appointment when the shiny red truck pulled up outside their hotel.

The moment the boy saw the truck was caught on video, and, as soon as it parks, he runs over to greet the firefighters.

Vehicle Hits Fire Truck At Scene Of Crash In Vandalia

Crews arrived, with a fire truck blocking the right lane of traffic on I-75 NB.

While the fire truck was parked to block that lane, a vehicle sideswiped the fire truck. There were some firefighters in the truck when it was hit.

No one was injured in that crash.

Marion (SC) Fire Department Unveils New Truck

Chief Trey Cooper said the new fire engine No. 10 in service is replacing a 1985 edition.

“We’re putting it in service and moving the other to another station,” Cooper said. “It’s a lot bigger and we have 30 percent more storage capacity. It has a larger 1,500 gallon pump.”

The staff will busy mounting gear and the new truck is already responding to calls.

Spokane City Council considers $5.8 million property tax increase for police, firefighters

The city of Spokane may ask voters to approve a $5.8 million increase in property taxes to pay 30 firefighters and hire 20 new police officers in a special election in February. If voters approve the measure, which City Council members may put on the ballot during their next meeting, property owners would pay 30 cents more for every $1,000 of assessed value, or about $60 a year for a $200,000 home.
